The Attendance-Monitoring Smartphone App was successfully launched on the 2nd January 2013. The app enables students to record their attendance by using a simple check-in and check-out system. The system is now fully operational in all our course centres around the country, and for all levels (CAP 1/CAP2/FAE).

The attendance app is a web based system which captures when students attend lectures by recording:

• Who the student is
• Time and location (via GPS)

This is then matched to the student database and timetable to record specific instances of attendance.

We would like to thank all students for their co-operation since the launch of the app.

Hints and Tips

Below are some useful hints and tips for using the app:

• Be sure your phone is set to allow location based functionality.
• To check-in in, type checkin.charteredaccountants.ie into your browser bar.
• Passwords are case-sensitive, be sure your auto-correct function does not change it for you!

Finally…. Students who do not have a smart phone, can check-in via the library PCs in CA House Dublin and Belfast.
